Program : Preschool : The Arts

The daily life of a preschool child is filled with moments of art. A scampering squirrel or a colored leaf catches the eye outside, and then naturally becomes featured in a student’s journal work. Opportunities abound to explore self-expression via crayons, paint, markers, clay, paper, and glue. Art projects are integrated into the learning themes so that students are regularly finding avenues for inquiry and deeper learning.

Songs are an integral part of the Early Reading program, as students learn the sounds of each letter through song and movement. Our Friday music and movement classes give us all the chance to delight in the way we are growing and to learn songs to share at home. In May parents are invited to a Spring Tea, when students share their songs with happy confidence.
